The Illinois General Assembly is still weighing what to do in the wake of Gov. Bruce Rauner's veto of the Democrats' new approach  to how the state sends money to schools in  Illinois. Meanwhile, Comptroller Susana Mendoza is urging Rauner to get going on issuing bonds to begin paying down the backlog of bills.

In politics, Democratic gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker has selected state Rep. Juliana Stratton of Chicago as his running mate. (He was also endorsed by the Cook County Democratic Party, but that happened after airtime.)

Brian Mackey hosts with regular panelist Charlie Wheeler and guest Natasha Korecki, who covers Illinois and writes the Illinois Playbook for Politico.
