The Lit Review is a grass-roots podcast based in Chicago. It's headed by two young women out to educate and inspire change.
The point of the project is described as this: "In this moment of urgency, mass political education is key. Every week, your Lit Review hosts, Page May and Monica Trinidad, will chat with people we love and respect about relevant books on Black struggle, movement history, gender, cultural organizing, sci fi, political theory, and more. We recognize that political study is not accessible to many for a variety of reasons: the expense of books, academic jargon, low literacy rates, time barriers, etc. Our hope is that this podcast will help make critical knowledge more accessible to the masses. Think spark notes in podcast form."
We spoke with Trinidad to hear more about the new effort.
