Grubs Force Glenwood-Lanphier Football Game To Be Moved

UI Extension

It's not the opponent you expect to face on the field.

But a grub infestation has forced Glenwood High School officials to change plans.  The grubs, larvae of beetles that feed on roots of grass and plants, were discovered on the field.  While treatment and repairs take place, the field won't be ready for Friday night's kickoff.

The game will instead be moved to the Glenwood Middle School.

Details for the game:

Gates will open at 6 p.m., with kickoff at 7. Tickets will be presold as well, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Friday from 7:30 to noon at the high school athletic office. Parking will be available at both Glenwood Middle and Glenwood Intermediate Schools.

The theme for this Friday’s game is “Friday Night Throwback” and former football players who spent their career playing on that field are invited to attend and be recognized.
