Deadline For Free Bed Program Fast Approaching

40winksfoundation.org

A store for beds and a hotline for parents are teaming up to provide needy families new mattresses, box-springs and bed-frames. The 40 Winks Foundation has provided several thousand beds to children all over the country. Slumberland, located at 2450 Chuckwagon Drive in Springfield, is providing beds for families in the Springfield area for the third time, the deadline to apply is Monday, Feb. 29th.

Gail Gauen is with St. John Children's Hospital's Parent Help Line. She told us more about it in this interview:

"Any individuals or agencies looking to apply can contact Stacey Boll from the Parent Help Line at 217-494-2431 or saboll@comcast.net.

Slumberland has worked with the Parent Help Line at St. John’s Children’s Hospital the past two Christmas seasons on their holiday bed giveaway program.  The purpose of Parent Help Line is to strengthen families through support, information and referral.  Families can call this free phone support line at 217-544-5808 or toll free 1-888-727-5889. Trained volunteer parents run the phone line 365 days a year from 10 a.m.-10 p.m."
