China Buys Up European Ports In Bid To Build 'New Silk Road'

China’s “Belt and Road” initiative evokes the ancient Silk Road network of trade routes that once connected Europe to East Asia. As China updates that idea for the 21st century, the China Ocean Shipping Company has spent billions of dollars acquiring stakes in European ports.
