Attorney General Lisa Madigan pushed legislation calling for new policies to handle sexual assault cases on Illinois campuses. The bill was approved by both Houses in late May.

The legislation involved requiring new policies, confidential advisers, a fair process for dealing with allegations of sexual assault  — and a plan to train students and employees to improve  handling of sexual assault cases
